Foundation Postpones Luncheon Over COVID Concerns
Staff Report
WARSAW – Kosciusko County Community Foundation has announced the postponement of an upcoming luncheon over concerns with increasing cases of COVID-19.
The foundation announced Wednesday afternoon that it would postpone plans for the Women in Philanthropy luncheon, scheduled for Sept. 8.
“We made this decision after watching The City of Warsaw’s COVID press conference today,” the foundation said in a statement on Facebook.
Kosciusko County’s Health Officer Dr. William Remington said Wednesday that he expects local conditions to worsen as the Delta variant continues to cause a spike in cases and hospitalizations.
“COVID cases are on the rise, including breakthrough cases for people who are fully vaccinated. The safety of our donors and guests is paramount to us and we do not want this large, indoor gathering to put our donors and guests at risk. Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to rescheduling the event in 2022.”
