Rochester Man Arrested For Allegedly Molesting Two Children
Staff Report
ROCHESTER — A Rochester man was recently arrested after allegedly molesting two children.
Jimmy A. Olson, 37, 331 Indiana Ave., Rochester, is charged with child molesting, a level 1 felony; and two counts of child molesting, both level 4 felonies.
On July 20, the Indiana Department of Child Services received a report of child molesting. Interviews with the children took place on July 26.
According to court documents, the first child that was interviewed said they were inappropriately touched multiple times by Olson. The child went into detail about the incidents. They also recalled one instance where Olson allegedly sent them an inappropriate picture on Snapchat.
In the interview, the child told officers about an incident where they were wearing legging-style pants. The child said Olson made inappropriate comments about their appearance.
The second child described two incidents where Olson inappropriately touched them. They also said Olson showed them pornographic pictures from the Internet and that he told the child to take their clothes off. The child said they told their mother about what occurred but that their mother didn’t believe them.
On Aug. 6, the mother was interviewed. She denied the second child ever coming to her with concerns about Olson touching them inappropriately or making them feel uncomfortable. When confronted with the allegations made against Olson, the mother said there was no way he would do that.
On Aug. 12, Olson was interviewed about the allegations. He denied the incidents occurring. Olson also said he had no prior knowledge of the allegations before the interview with officers.
Olson was booked in the Fulton County Jail on Aug. 25, with a $75,000 surety bond. A no-contact order is in place, preventing Olson from having direct or indirect contact with the two children.
