SYRACUSE — Republican Precinct Committee members in Turkey Creek Township Precincts 2, 3, 4 and 5 in Syracuse will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, to appoint a replacement for Tom Hoover, Syracuse Town Council member of Ward 3. Hoover submitted his resignation effective Oct. 1.

Hoover, who has served on the board since 2016, has resigned due to moving outside the town limits.

Any Republican in good standing residing in Syracuse Ward 3 is eligible to seek the position. Declarations of candidacy are available at the office of Kosciusko County Clerk of the Circuit Court, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw, and must be filed with the county chairman, Mike Ragan, no later than 72 hours prior to the start of the caucus.

Candidates will be allowed a maximum of three minutes to address the voting caucus.
