Glenda Arlene Harmeyer, 76, formerly of rural Columbia City, died unexpectedly at her home following her return from a European vacation at 3:01 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021.

Born Nov. 8, 1944, at Luckey Hospital in Wolf Lake, she was a daughter of the late Chalmer and Mabel J. (Gross) Smith.

On May 29, 1965, she married Richard Lee Harmeyer. Richard died Oct. 16, 2004.

Surviving are her daughters, Monica (Michael) Kline of Fort Wayne; and Marla (Jason) Wigent of Columbia City; grandchildren Trey (Kendra) Kline of Pierceton; Teryn Kline of Fort Wayne; Jayla (Brachen) Hazen of Columbia City; and Jacob Wigent of Columbia City; and a sister Luana (Lowell) Felger of Arcola.
