Cripe, Stillson Named Academic All-State

INDIANAPOLIS – The postseason awards are brewing for girls golf, and the most recent announcement came from the Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association, which released its Academic All-State awards.
The award, given to 15 of the top golfers on and off the course, requires a golfer to carry at least a 3.5 GPA, an 1100 SAT or ACT equivalent, have played in 50 percent of her team’s matches and be listed among the members of the sectional roster.
NorthWood’s Cybil Stillson and Wawasee’s Taylor Cripe were among the 15 named to the list released Wednesday morning. From the area also included South Bend St. Joe’s MacKenzie Schmeltz.
NorthWood head coach Adam Yoder also reported that Bella Sechrist from his team was named among the Honorable Mentions. The IHSGCA had not immediately published its Honorable Mention list with its First Team list.
The IHSGCA noted of the 15 chosen for the First Team, their collective GPA was over 4.0 and their SAT scores averaged over 1360, one member with a 1580.
