MILFORD —The fourth block party hosted by Harvest Coffee, Milford Kiwanis Club and Harvest with a Heart was held Saturday, Sept. 25, at Harvest Coffee/Harvest with a Heart, 207 N. Higbee St. The groups also partnered with Wildman Business Group and Apostolic Christian Church.
There was popcorn, lemonade, ziplock bags of candy, corn hole and live entertainment available to the community.
“It’s just a time for people to get together and meet their community,” shared Karena Wilkinson, manager of Harvest Coffee.
She stated there was originally a block party planned for last year, but COVID changed their plans and has caused this year to feel as though they are starting new.
“It’s kind of small because it’s like starting it up again,” Wlikinson stated.
The Apostolic Christian Church offered for Harvest Coffee to host the event in the yard they share and use the church’s parking lot for overflow.
“We invite anyone who wants to take part in it, community groups, churches even businesses,” she said.
With partnerships, Harvest Coffee and others plan to do many more block parties in the coming years.
“It’s something that we will continue to do every year,” Wilkinson said.
