Valley Falls In Caston Final

Tippecanoe Valley couldn’t get past the host Comets in the championship of the Caston Tourney.

Valley beat LaVille 2-0 and North White 2-1, going 16-14 in the clincher, to make the final. Caston then held on to beat Valley in the final.

Full results from the tournament were not provided.

Wawasee Struggles At Dunes Tourney

Wawasee dropped three of four contests Saturday at the Dunes Tourney.

After beating Michigan City 2-0 in the first game, Wawasee lost 2-1 to Mishawaka Marian and 2-0 to South Central in pool play. In its fourth game, Wawasee lost to John Glenn 25-19, 22-25, 11-15.

Stat leaders for the Warriors included Dylan Konieczny with 31 kills and 16 digs, Leslie Vazquez with 26 kills and 25 digs, Kai Jamora with 46 assists and 22 digs, and Liz Miller with 23 digs and 10 assists.

The Wawasee JV also played in the Dunes JV tourney, going 3-1. Wawasee beat Concord, Buchanan (Mich.) and Mishawaka Marian, but fell to New Prairie. Stats were not provided for the Wawasee JV.

NorthWood Understudies On The Road

NorthWood’s JV competed Saturday at the Penn Tourney while the freshman team were at the Lake Central Invite.

The JV beat Mishawaka 2-0 and Plymouth 2-0 before falling to Fort Wayne Carroll 2-0 in the championship game. Stats were not provided for the Panther JV.

The freshman team beat Elkhart 2-1 and lost to Warsaw 2-0 among its work in the Central Time Zone. Among the standouts for the Panthers was Elayna Yoder, who had 12 digs and nine kills in the two games.
