NORTH WEBSTER—North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce had its monthly meeting Monday evening, Oct. 18.
At the beginning of the first evening meeting in several years, Treasurer Kim Bolt of Crossroads Bank announced she is officially resigning. Everyone in attendance applauded her excellent work for the chamber throughout her term, including chamber president Mindy Scaggs of RE/MAX Lakes.
“We thank you so much Kim for your service and everything she did was such a fabulous job that it really made it easy for us,” Scaggs said.
Following Bolt’s resignation Scaggs said Karen White, the new secretary of the chamber, is doing very well.
“She’s doing a good job,” Scaggs shared. “Great job on your first month.”
White shared she had created the ballot for the 2022 officers and board of directors to be voted on. After presenting the ballot, Scaggs announced she as of January 2022 will no longer be president and will not be running for another term.
“My business is really taking off…. I have some other things I really need to focus on,” Scaggs said. “I appreciate the time that I have had on this board and the opportunity to be able to work with all of you has been incredible.”
Several members spoke up to share their appreciation for the way Scaggs has run the chamber.
“I like how you keep it real,” Elise Guy of Guys Lawn Care said.
In addition to Guy’s statement, Chris Trowbridge of Maverick Promotions shared his thoughts on her term.
“You’ve done a great job, I think it’s been good,” he said.
Following that the board discussed and decided on increasing the cost of membership fees/dues for 2022.
“It’s $50 for individual, $100 for nonprofit, $100 for nine or less, $200 for 10 or more,” White said.
Lastly, Scott Kuhn of Tangibles Resale announced his business among other vendors will be holding a holiday vendor event at the North Webster Community Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 6.
