Thanksgiving Treat Bags Are Available At The Milford Library
News Release
MILFORD—Come to the library to get a Thanksgiving Treat bag. The bags will be available beginning on Monday, Nov. 15 through Wednesday, Nov. 24.
The last year has been a challenging one, with COVID-19 pretty much affecting everything. The staff at the library is thankful that they have been able to keep the library open for our regular 48 hours a week, despite having been short of help, like most other businesses. The library is grateful for the support of the community. The library is thankful for all of its patrons. If patrons are traveling over the holiday, or are looking for something to entertain Thanksgiving guests, the Thanksgiving Treat bag has a craft, a coloring book and crayons, a sticker sheet and a sunflower sucker.
The Wizard Of Oz Virtual Program
The Milford Public Library is offering a free, virtual program for the month of November. In 1900, L. Frank Baum published what would become a literary classic with his children’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. In 2018, Bright Star adapted the show into a two-person play and the result was amazing. It was the hit of 2018 so the library brought it back for another year. While the medium might be different, the characters and classic storyline remain the same. Follow comic duo Lenny and Mabel down the yellow brick road to the Land of Oz and meet all of your favorite characters along the way. Gain courage with the Cowardly Lion, take heart with the Tin Man and find your wits with the Scarecrow in this fun interactive retelling of the L. Frank Baum classic.

Patrons can watch the program as many times as desired. Patrons should have received an email on Nov. 1s with login information for the program. Or patrons can call 574-658-4312 to have the information emailed. The staff at the library hopes everyone will enjoy this family favorite.
Library Long Range Plan
It’s time for the library to collect information from the community in order to create a new long-range plan. Staff from the library will be calling people and businesses in the area to ask some questions about how they use the library and if there are services or programs they would like to see in the future. The survey will also be available at the library if patrons would like to share any ideas with the staff. The library will send the survey out via email if patrons find that more convenient. It will only take a few minutes to respond to the survey and it is very helpful to the library staff and Board when planning for the next few years. All responses received by 6 p.m. on Nov. 12 will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card to an area restaurant. The survey will be available until Nov. 12. If patrons would like to stop by the library with suggestions, that’s okay too. The staff wants to hear from its patrons.
