WARSAW — Kosciusko County and much of northern Indiana have moved to red in the state health department’s tracking system for COVID-19.
The county recorded three more deaths in the past six days attributed to COVID-19, bringing the total to 169 since the pandemic began.
A move into the red category is based on the number of weekly cases per 100,000 and its seven-day positivity rate.
Counties with positivity rates of 15% or higher qualify for the red designation.
Kosciusko County’s current positivity rate is now at 17.6%, which is second-lowest of all surrounding counties.
In addition to Kosciusko County, two large populations centers in northern Indiana – Fort Wayne and South Bend – moved to red.
