Carl Slone Sr.
Carl Slone Sr., 87, Warsaw, passed away at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. He was born March 23, 1934, to Adam and Julie (Haywood) Slone in Prestonsburg, Ky. He married Dorothy Baldridge Dec. 15, 1956, in Prestonsburg, Ky.
He was employed by Jomac as shipping clerk and has 34 years of service. Carl was an avid golfer, pool player (at a younger age) and was fond of Westerns, especially Gunsmoke. He was known to have nick names for everyone. Also, he enjoyed spending time with his “adopted” great-granddaughter Maggie. The family would like to thank Premier Hospice for their kindness and care.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Slone, Warsaw; a son, Carl (Geneva) Slone Jr., Warsaw; sisters: Edith Stumbo, Prestonsburg; Ethel Harmon, and Ruby (Richard) Krebs, Warsaw; brothers, Kenton (Bonnie) Slone, Warsaw; Wendell (Brenda) Slone, Etna Green; and Adam Slone, Warsaw. He is further survived by three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded by his parents, four brothers and one great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. His funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Chapel with Pastor Lewis Wedstel Shepherd officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
