Local Couple Offers $10,000 Match Red Kettle Donations
News Release
WARSAW – The Salvation Army of Kosciusko County has announced that Eddie and Louise Creighton have stepped up to offer a matching gift that could double dollars dropped into area Red Kettles on the last two Saturdays before Christmas.
On Dec. 11 and 18, the Creightons will match dollar-for-dollar cash donations up to $10,000.
“The Creighton family has been a wonderful supporter of The Salvation Army in Kosciusko County. The $5,000 match they offered in 2020 was very successful. We’re so grateful that they have doubled their match in 2021 and are just as confident that the public will respond in kind,” said Envoy Ken Locke, administrator for The Salvation Army’s corps community center in Warsaw.
Red Kettles appeared at several locations in the county early this year, giving holiday shoppers plenty of opportunities to donate. Last-minute shoppers will find bell ringers out through Christmas Eve. For those staying close to home this Christmas, Walmart is offering online shoppers on Walmart.com the opportunity to round up their orders to the nearest dollar and donate the extra amount to their local The Salvation Army. Donations come back to the shopper’s zip code, which means that their own community benefits from the round-up.
Shoppers looking for a Red Kettle on December 11 or 18 will find bell ringers at the Walmart and Kroger stores in Warsaw and the Neighborhood Fresh stores in North Webster and Syracuse. Anyone interested in volunteering to ring a bell this holiday season is invited to visit RegisterToRing.com and find a location, date, and time that works for their schedule.
Every donation given to The Salvation Army through the annual Red Kettle Campaign provides help and hope to those in need, and all gifts stay right here in the community where it is given. Visit SAWarsaw.org to learn more about how you can help.
