Christmas Treat Bags Still Available At Milford Library

MILFORD — Milford Public Library will be closed Friday, Dec. 24 and Saturday, Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas. The staff wishes a Happy Holiday to all of the library patrons The following week, Milford Public Library will be closed on Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1 to celebrate the New Year. Make a resolution to get a library card.
Christmas Treat Bag Available At Library
Bring your children to the library for a Christmas Treat bag. They will be available, while supplies last, until Thursday, Dec.r 23. If you are traveling for the holidays, or just want a fun activity to entertain your young holiday visitors, the Holiday Treat bag has ornament crafts, a snack, a sweet treat, and stickers.
Holidays Around The World Virtual Program
The Milford Public Library is offering a free, virtual program for the month of December. ‘Tis the season of hilarity. When the tour guides for Worldwide Tours get separated, a worldwide adventure awaits. As they travel around the world in search of each other, the guides share holiday traditions from a wide variety of places and cultures. Learn about another culture this Christmas.

Watch the program as many times as you would like. Patrons should have received an email on Dec. 1 with login information for the program. If not call (574) 658-4312 to have the information emailed. The staff hopes everyone will enjoy learning about different holiday festivities.
December Lego Challenge
December LEGO Challenge is to make a gingerbread person. Send a picture to the email below to be considered for this month’s prize drawing. The gingerbread person can be 2D or 3D, monochrome or rainbow, or anything in between. Get creative and use your imagination. The staff is excited to see what you make.
After you’ve built your gingerbread person, submit a photo to [email protected] by Dec. 27 for a chance to win a new LEGO kit. The winner will be picked by staff vote. No library card needed. This challenge is for children ages 18 and under.
On This Day In History
On Dec. 20, 1812, “Grimm’s Fairy Tales” by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm was first published. The collection, also often called “Children’s and Household Tales,” first featured 86 stories. Now, the collection has over 200 different tales. Come to the library and check out the vast collection of fairy tales.
