WARSAW – Combined Community Services launched its annual Toy Time distribution Tuesday, Dec. 21, after a culmination of resources brought together a large number of items intended for disadvantaged families.
The giveaway began Tuesday morning, Dec. 21, (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and continues Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Home and Family Arts Building at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds.
The event pulls together resources from Toys For Tots, a large consignment sale and donations from ABATE of Indiana.
ABATE volunteers on Monday night delivered bicycles (with helmets) and other items for youths.
This year’s toy consignment event brought in 23,521 toys from 196 families. And 112 of those families donated their money from the sale to the event, said event organizer Ami Pitt.
As a result, organizers were able to purchase more than $10,000 worth of items, Pitt said.
“This is the most used toys we’ve ever gotten and the most we’ve ever been able to shop with,” Pitt said.
