Man Who Overdosed Then Arrested For Dealing Meth

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after officers responded to a drug overdose and discovered more than 25 grams of methamphetamine.
Ridley Lee Brown, 42, 502 Oldfather St., Warsaw, is charged with dealing methamphetamine, a level 2 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 3 felony; possession of a narcotic drug, a level 6 felony; possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor; and a habitual offender enhancement.
On Sept. 15, officers were dispatched to a report of a drug overdose in Warsaw. A man at the scene informed a Warsaw Police officer that Brown was unresponsive in a bedroom. EMS arrived and administered Narcan to Brown.
The Warsaw officer searched Brown’s person and found a round cylinder that he knew was used to conceal illegal drugs. The cylinder contained methamphetamine. In the area where Brown was discovered, the officer also found a small bag containing heroin. The Kosciusko County Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET43) was called to the scene for assistance.
EMS told officers that Brown was awake and alert. According to court documents, Brown told officers that he had used heroin. While searching Brown’s room, officers found drug paraphernalia, bags containing 28 grams of methamphetamine, empty plastic bags, and a bag containing 1.2 grams of Fentanyl, a narcotic drug.
Brown has prior felony convictions for possession of a controlled substance and burglary.
Brown was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 29, with a $26,000 surety and cash bond.
