Worrell Named Executive Director Of North Webster Community Center

NORTH WEBSTER — The North Webster Community Center’s Board of Directors announces the hiring of Emily Worrell, a North Webster native and seasoned educator, as its new executive director. Worrell assumes her new position Feb. 1, bringing public relations, strong leadership and an appreciation for elementary education to the center.
“I look forward to being involved with the community and seeing how, going forward, the community center can further benefit area residents of all ages, especially starting with the littles,” said Worrell, a third generation attendee of the former North Webster school in which the center is located. “I’ll begin my tenure by learning and listening to the community and building a plan on the strong foundation of past leadership to continue to create a safe, inviting and beneficial Center.”
“We warmly welcome Emily Worrell as executive director of the North Webster Community Center,” noted NWCC board chairman Dennis Wagoner. “And, speaking for the board of directors, we trust that Emily, with her leadership qualities, educational background and local roots, will continue to enhance the Center’s reputation as the ‘Heart of the Community.’”
The NWCC’s leadership urges area residents to stop by the community center after Feb. 1 to welcome Worrell aboard. A married mother of three with a degree in public relations from Ball State University, she last served for 8 1/2 years as a teacher and communication strategist for the Wawasee Community School Corporation. The North Webster Community Center, based on SR 13 in the middle of town, is home to the North Webster branch of Parkview Warsaw YMCA, the Senior Primelife Enrichment Center, the Watershed Foundation, the Tippy/Chapman Sewer District and NWCC Massage plus a host of youth and adult programs.
