Shepherd, who killed three children in a pre-dawn accident at a school bus stop, was released Wednesday, March 9, a representative of the Fulton County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to InkFreeNews.
Shepherd of Rochester, was sentenced in December 2019 after she disregarded a Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. bus stopped on Oct. 30, 2018, in Fulton County, hitting and killing three children, siblings Alivia Stahl, 9, and her twin brothers, Mason and Xzavier Ingle, 6.
A fourth child, Maverik Lowe, was severely injured as part of the incident.
Shepherd’s sentence in December 2019 included that she will spend three years on community corrections or home detention, then three years of probation. Her driver’s license was also suspended for 10 years.
The accident led to more focus on school bus safety and is credited with the establishment of new safety measures.
