WARSAW — The St. Paddy’s Street Party on North Buffalo Street in Warsaw saw a record turnout Thursday night.
Hundreds descended on the block party, which continued until 10 p.m. in front of One Ten Craft Meatery, which hosted the event with support from Main Street Warsaw, and a group of other restaurants and entities.
The event across from the Kosciusko County Courthouse included food, drinks and music from three bands and continued from 4 to 10 p.m.
Both Rob Parker, who oversees Main Street Warsaw, and Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer attended the party and were ecstatic about the attendance.
Outdoor events marking St. Patrick’s Day are always a bit challenging because of the weather.
On Thursday, temps crested above 70 degrees.
“This is the best by far,” Parker said.
Jason Brown, the organizer who owns One Ten Craft Meatery, said they would have been happy with 300 people. Instead, nearly 700 people bought tickets.
“It was wonderful,” Brown said.
Brown said he hopes the festival becomes an annual event and would like to see the number of vendors and food trucks grow.
