Staff Report
WARSAW — Two people from Warsaw were arrested after a domestic incident.
Samantha Kendall Taylor, 28, 2002 E. Market St., Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
Daniel Blake Bidelman, 25, 2002 E. Market St., Warsaw, is charged with interference with the reporting of a crime, a class A misdemeanor.
On Feb. 12, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a domestic complaint at a residence. Upon arrival at the scene, Bidelman exited the home to speak with the officer.
According to court documents, Bidelman said Taylor was intoxicated and had hit him in the face. He said the two were in a verbal argument when Taylor started to attack him. When Taylor hit Bidelman in the face, he got a swollen and bloody lip.
The officer then spoke with Taylor about the incident. Taylor said that she was in a verbal argument with Bidelman when he put his hands on her, attacked her, and threw a remote. When Taylor said she was going to call 911, Bidelman took her phone to prevent her from calling the police. A child was in one of the residence’s bedrooms during the argument. Officers did not notice any visible injuries on Taylor.
A portable breath test from Taylor registered a 0.169% BrAC. Bidelman registered a 0.024% BrAC.
When asked if he had taken Taylor’s phone to prevent her from calling 911, Bidelman said he had.
Taylor was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on March 17, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond. Bidelman has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. April 22.
