Plenty Of Easter Egg Hunts Upcoming In Area

WARSAW — The Easter Bunny’s helpers are going to be hard at work hiding eggs for children to find in the area over the next week and a half.
Here’s a list of egg hunts throughout Kosciusko County and a few outside it:
Kosciusko County
Warsaw
- The Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church has an Easter egg hunt open to the public from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, April 16.
It’s on the Kosciusko County Courthouse lawn. There will also be a bounce house and food from the Shawnanigans food truck.
- The City-County Athletic Complex is having its inaugural Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 16.
The event begins at 6 p.m. at the complex, located at 3215 West Old SR 30, Warsaw. There will also be food, games and fun.
The group is also seeking donations of coupons, money and gift certificates for the hunt from individuals and businesses. To learn more about donating, people should call 574-269-6663 or email [email protected].
Winona Lake
- Celebration United Methodist Church, 1289 S. 250 E., Winona Lake, is having a drive-thru Easter event from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 9.
There will be a treat bags given out to both kids and pets.
- A fundraiser for Winona Lake Limitless Park called “Egg My House” is Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16.
People can have candy- and toy-filled eggs delivered to houses in Winona Lake or Warsaw. The cost is $30 for 25 eggs, $50 for 50 eggs and $75 for 100 eggs. Eggs can also be hidden at the homes for an additional fee. People can choose either April 15 or 16 to have the eggs delivered.

The deadline to order is Friday, April 8.
Atwood
- Otterbein United Methodist Church, 306 E. Main St., Atwood, has its annual Easter egg hunt for toddlers through grade school children on Saturday, April 9.
It starts at 1 p.m. Children and their parents will gather in the church fellowship hall, and the Easter Bunny should make an appearance.
Everyone is welcome, and there will also be snacks and other activities. For more information, contact the church office at 574-858-2291.
Etna Green
- The Etna Green Lions Club is hosting an Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at Heritage Park.
Mentone
- Bell Memorial Public Library of Mentone has an Easter egg hunt at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, for kids ages 2-10.
The hunt is to proceed in the following order: Ages 2-5 will hunt from 4:30-5 p.m.; and ages 6-10 will hunt from 5:30-6 p.m.
- The Mentone Chamber of Commerce has its Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16 at Mentzer Park in Mentone.
The following age groups will hunt: Ages 2-4; 5-7; and 8-10.
Milford
- The Milford Kiwanis Club will host an Easter egg hunt Saturday, April 16, at Milford School.
The Easter Bunny arrives at 10:15 a.m. and the hunt starts at 10:30 a.m. The hunt is for children through third grade.
- The second annual “Rabbit Grab-it” benefitting the Milford Food Bank is Saturday, April 16, at the Apostolic Christian Church, 201 N. Higbee St., Milford.
It includes an Easter egg hunt and two-mile run/walk. The run/walk begins at 10 a.m., followed by the egg hunt at 10:30 a.m.
All who register by Monday, April 11, will get a shirt and Easter basket. Those who register the day of will get a shirt while supplies last.
The egg hunt is open to kids 12 and under; cost is $10 for preregistration and $15 the day of. For the race, the cost is $20 for preregistration and $25 at the event. Prizes will be awarded in several divisions for the race.

North Webster
- An Easter egg hunt will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at the North Webster ball diamonds.
Children will be hunting for hard-boiled eggs and money eggs with $200 in cash given out. There will be four age groups: toddlers, preschool and kindergarten, grades first through third, and grades fourth and fifth. The age limit is 12 years old.
Pierceton
- An Easter egg hunt open to the public is on Saturday, April 16, at Harvest Community Church, 512 S. Seventh St., Pierceton.
There will be games and crafts at noon, followed by the hunt at 1 p.m.
Silver Lake
- The Silver Lake Lions Club’s 38th annual Easter egg hunt is 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at the former Silver Lake School grounds.
Five age groups may participate: 0-1; 2-3; 4-6; 7-9; and 10-sixth grade. Prizes will be awarded in each age group. Everyone should bring their own containers.

Syracuse
- An Easter egg hunt will be Saturday, April 9, at Lakeside Park in Syracuse.
The event is open to all children ages 10 and under. Each age group will have their own time to hunt for eggs. Ages 0 to 3 will be at 9:45 a.m., ages 4 to 6 will be at 10:30 a.m., and ages 7 to 10 will be at 11:15 a.m.
After the hunt, each child who returns the eggs will receive a treat. Three golden eggs will be hidden for each age group for a special prize. Don’t forget to bring an Easter basket to hunt.
Other counties
Akron
- The Akron Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Easter egg hunt from 10:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 16, at Pike Memorial Park.
There will be more than 6,000 eggs and prizes, a spring petting zoo and pictures with the Easter Bunny. (People should bring their own camera for the photos.)
Kids will start hunting by age group at the following times: 11:30 a.m. for ages 0-3; 11:35 a.m. for ages 4-6; 11:40 a.m. for ages 7-9; and 11:45 a.m. for ages 10-12.
One adult is allowed to assist those in the 0-3 age group.
Nappanee
- The Nappanee Rotary Club is having an Easter egg hunt at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the Callander Sportsplex, 1655 Thompson Drive, Nappanee.
The hunt will be divided into four age groups with age 9 and younger being allowed to hunt. There will be a drawing for girl’s and boy’s bicycles.
North Manchester
- The North Manchester Parks and Recreation Department is having an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Warvel Park.
Kids will hunt in the following age groups: Toddlers; pre-K and kindergarten; first and second grades; third and fourth grades; and fifth and sixth grades. Children may line up on the sidewalk at Seventh Street and Market Street in their age groups.
South Whitley
- An Easter egg hunt eggstravaganza is set for Saturday, April 16, at Esterline Farms, 8324 W. SR 14, South Whitley.
A pancake breakfast is 9-11 a.m. The hunt begins at 11 a.m. The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance and there will be a petting zoo, raffles and a silent auction, prizes and giveaways and photo sessions.
