Local Special Olympics Participants Compete In Basketball Tournament

WARSAW — Basketball athletes from Kosciusko County Special Olympics participated in the Indiana State basketball tournament held at the Pacers Athletic Center in Westfield on Saturday, April 2.
In the 5-on-5 team competition, the Kosciusko County Panthers placed third, winning the bronze medal in their competition flight. The Panthers beat the Wabash County Wolfpack and lost to the Hancock County Hoosiers in spirited games.
In the 3-on-3 team competition, the Kosciusko County Jaguars placed first, winning the gold medal in their competition flight. The Panthers beat the Henry County Heat and Hendricks County Bulldogs in competitive games.
Becky Walls, Kosciusko County coordinator for Special Olympics, thanks the coaches and volunteers for their tremendous efforts and time throughout the season.
Track and field and bocce are the next sports starting for Special Olympics.
