Strong Winds Causing Power Outages
Staff Report
WARSAW – Numerous parts of Kosciusko County are experiencing power outages as strong winds whip across the region.
The loss of power at the courthouse in Warsaw forced the relocation of tonight’s Kosciusko County Council meeting to the Justice Building.
NIPSCO posted a statement earlier this afternoon saying it was aware of outages affecting 8,900 customers.
High winds – gusting up to 60 mph – are causing elevated electric power outages across Northern Indiana.
All NIPSCO crews are working to assess the damage, make necessary repairs and restore power as safely and quickly as possible in the ongoing gusty conditions, the statement said.
