News Release
SYRACUSE — Adults will not want to miss out on several activities being held at the Syracuse Public Library during the week of May 16.
Adult Book Club
The adult book club meets to discuss “Malibu Rising” by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the group’s May pick. The first discussion will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, on Zoom; contact Becky Brower, [email protected], to receive an invitation. The in-person book discussion follows at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 19, in the library’s downstairs meeting room.
Stay for the board game sampler at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 19. Bring a favorite board game to share or simply come to enjoy someone else favorite game.
Trail Cleanup
The first trail cleanup will occur at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19. Meet at the Syracuse Public Library before setting off to clean a section of the Syracuse-Wawasee Trail along Main Street. Those wanting to independently help at a different time can contact Brower so volunteer hours can be recorded.
Summer Cards For Fairfield Students
Children within the Fairfield Community Schools district are eligible for a free summer library card at the Syracuse Public Library now through Aug. 1. These cards are possible through the Fairfield Schools Family Literacy Fund, a grant created by an anonymous donor.
To qualify, children must reside in either Benton, Clinton or Jackson township and be from age birth to entering grade 12 this fall. The summer library card gives the cardholder access to all library services and materials, with the exception of mobile hotspots. Cardholders will also have access to the library’s OverDrive, Libby and Hoopla databases.
Register for the card at the library by bringing a photo ID and proof of address. Each family with multiple children aged birth to 13 will receive only one card. Children aged 13 through 18 are eligible for their own cards.
For more information, call the library at (574) 457-3022.
