John J. Chupp, 97, of Nappanee, died on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Maples at Waterford Crossing in Goshen.

He was born on July 2, 1924, to Joseph C.S. and Amanda (Detweiler) Chupp in Owen, Wis., John moved to the Nappanee area in 1943.

On June 20, 1957, John married Esther Lehman. She preceded in death on August 15, 2015. John was a member of the Old Order Amish Church, and is survived by four children: Ruth Ann (Randell) Rodgerson of Syracuse, Marvin J. (Karen) Chupp of Milford, Mervin R. (Glenda) Chupp of Goshen, and Rose Mary (John) Metzger of New Paris; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
