Fort Wayne Ranked Third Among Best-Run Cities, Survey Says
FORT WAYNE — Personal finance website WalletHub has released its 2022 list of Best- & Worst-Run Cities in America, and Fort Wayne comes in favorably at number three among 150 of the largest cities.
To determine the best communities, the website used six key categories: Financial stability, education, health, safety, economy and infrastructure & pollution.
WalletHub created a “Quality of Services” score made up of 38 metrics, and then measured it against the city’s per-capita budget.
“The metrics used by WalletHub are important factors that we look at each day as we measure ourselves on how Fort Wayne can be the most effective and efficient government that’s providing excellent services to the public,“ said Fort Wayne spokesperson, John Perlich. “Our ongoing commitment to engagement, innovation and performance is making a difference.”
Indianapolis comes in at number 64 and Gary at 74.
Nampa, Idaho and Boise, Idaho were ranked one and two as best run cities. Washington D.C. was rated worst.
