The theme for this year’s Lake Tippecanoe Flotilla, which will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2, is Looney Tunes. The first Looney Tune short was shown in April 1930. The cartoons showcased 27 different characters from Bugs Bunny to Yosemite Sam and Wile E. Coyote.

LEESBURG — Don’t be looney and miss this free event. The Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners is sponsoring a flotilla Saturday, July 2. Registration will be from 9-11 a.m. at Patona Bay Snack Shop with the flotilla departing at 1 p.m. from the sandbar of Patona Bay. The flotilla’s theme will be Looney Tunes.

With the vast number of characters Looney Tunes provides, there is no doubt creativity for anyone’s float is endless. The parade will be led by a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputy who will guide floaters on a planned route around Lake Tippecanoe.

Following the parade, cash prizes will be given to the top three floaters. Participants must be registered to win a prize.
