Upcoming Events At Milford Public Library
News Release
MILFORD — July 5 begins Craft Week of the Summer Reading Program at Milford Public Library. This week’s activity packet contains five crafts to make. You can make a shark mask, a sea turtle necklace, a shark magnet, an undersea photo frame and a whale from a small flower pot. Stop by the library to pick up your craft packet Tuesday through Saturday, July 5-9.
The library will be closed Monday, July 4, to celebrate Independence Day. Craft packets are for ages preschool through graduating seniors. The library has a great line-up of storytellers this year who are excited to share ocean themed stories with you. Join the fun outside as weather permits, or inside in the library’s meeting room. The guest storyteller for July 8 will be Anna Jackson and the theme is “Sharks.” Families who stay for the entire event this week will be given a copy of The Shark Book by Steve Jenkins and Robin Page — so plan on staying until the very end.
Make sure to mark your calendars for the Summer Reading grand finale party, which is a FOAM-ZILLA, soapy fun event and pizza party beginning at noon Friday, July 22. The events are free for all Summer Reading Program participants, and you can earn a picnic ticket for the pizza party by reading for five hours. You will not want to miss these exciting events that will be happening live at the library.
Teens: Read at least five hours every week this summer and be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card. There will be a winner every week from Monday, June 6, through Saturday, July 23.
There is no virtual program available this week. Now is the time to catch up if you have missed week 1-4. Visit milford.lib.in.us and put the mouse over “Summer ‘22” on the top bar. It will bring up a drop down list of the programs. The bottom option is the most recent program. Re-watch some of your favorites, if you like. The virtual program will be back beginning July 11, with a whole new virtual field trip, author interview and program.
