Echoes Of The Past Busy During Fair Week
News Release
WARSAW — The Echoes of the Past club members were busy during Kosciusko County Fair week.
As visitors came and went throughout the week at the fair, the Antique Village was buzzing with activity, provided by the Echoes of the Past. Ice cream was served daily. Patrons were treated to vanilla, chocolate, banana and lemon as flavor choices this year.
On Tuesday, the club played host to the YMCA kids summer camp. The kids were treated to rope-making and tractor driving. Eighty children took spins around the tractor course.
The sawmill was also demonstrated throughout the week. Walnut and cherry logs were cut to raw lumber to be used in projects. Visitors to the village were able to watch the process on Monday and Wednesday.
Due to the rain on Friday, the saw was unable to be run.
Those patronizing the village did not leave hungry. Sweet corn, ham and beans and chili were all served during the week.
The tractor driving experience was a big hit with the young and old alike. More than 250 drivers were treated to the excitement of driving a tractor for the first time. Many kids returned for more than one drive.
The week culminated in the 4-H auction. The mission of the club is to help preserve agricultural education. One way of doing that is by supporting FFA and 4-H. The club was able to support 4-H members selling their livestock.
