New Events At Warsaw Community Public Library

WARSAW — WCPL’s Community Outreach Services is working hard to provide quality events for our community, and August has some wonderful opportunities for you and your families!
For the teens, we have these entertaining events:
- Internet Scavenger Hunt and Retro 80’s Party — 3:30 p.m. Aug. 3
Participants will be given 20 in depth questions and use the internet to get the answers. The first one with all questions completed and correct will win a prize. At the same time, there will be music, games and snacks that were popular in the 80’s. Come in your best 80’s wear! - Summer Smash Bash — 3:30 p.m. Aug. 10
This will be a Super Smash Brothers tournament with prizes to the PWR gaming convention in South Bend given to the top place winners. - Dungeons and Dragons —10 a.m. Aug. 13
All levels of experience welcome! Please register in advance. - Movie & Pizza — 3:30 p.m. Aug. 17
Relax with a fun movie and complimentary pizza from Domino’s. - Teen Trading Day — 3:30 p.m. Aug. 31
Participants can bring their video games, comics, manga and trading cards to trade with other people for items that are new to them.
We also have several general activities scheduled for the family, teens and adults:
- Children’s Resource Fair — 5-6 p.m. Aug. 2
Register children to receive a free book each month with the United Way Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Big Brothers/Big Sisters will have information on their mentorship program. Learn more on the transition to kindergarten with On My Way Pre-K. BYC will have information on their before and after school programs, and Lutheran EMS will be discussing car seat safety. - Traditional Scrapbooking — 6 p.m. Aug. 8
Bring some photos and learn some traditional techniques for scrapbooking. - Book Lover’s Day — Aug. 9
Celebrate Book Lover’s day with crafts and snacks. Children will be served from 10:15–11:15 a.m., teens from 3:30–4:30 p.m. and adults from 5–6 p.m. - Fire Extinguisher Demo — 1 p.m. Aug. 12
This demo will be held with Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory Marshal Frets. - Kosciusko Trailkeepers Hiking Club — 9 a.m. Aug. 13
The Kosciusko Trailkeepers Hiking Club will be meeting with special leaders, Stan Moore of Kosciusko County SWCD and KWWIP Chairperson Peggy Wihebrink. Meet at Tracey’s Trails, 408 Roy St., Winona Lake. - Paint with Carl — 5:30 p.m. Aug. 15
