WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District, in cooperation with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, will be convening a Local Working Group at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the USDA Service Center, 217 E. Bell Drive, Warsaw.

The SWCD monthly board meeting will immediately follow at approximately 7:30 p.m. SWCD and NRCS will be seeking local input to address local natural resource concerns, with respect to USDA farm bill programs. The public is invited to attend this meeting.

The purpose of Local Working Groups is to provide recommendations on unique local natural resource priorities and the criteria for conservation activities through programs funded by the national farm bill.

These recommendations will be forwarded to the NRCS state technical committee for review and further recommendation on conservation programs and their implementation.

Natural resource priorities in the following areas will be discussed: soil erosion and soil quality, water quality and quantity, air quality, plants, livestock and priority watersheds.
