Warsaw Woman Arrested On Four Battery Charges
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was arrested after allegedly battering a man while armed with two knives.
Bobbi Jo Williamson, 37, 122 Downy Drive, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery while armed with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; domestic battery with a child under 16 present and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, both level 6 felonies; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Aug. 11, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a domestic dispute at a residence. A person reported that Williamson had two knives and was attempting to harm a man. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer found Williamson sitting on a couch holding a child. The person who reported the incident and the man who was allegedly attacked were on a back porch.
Williamson told the officer she had an argument with the man. According to court documents, Williamson said the altercation was never physical and that she only held a butter knife during the incident. She denied using the knife on the man and claimed she only used it to try to force herself into another room.
The officer then spoke with the man who was attacked. The officer noticed the man had a swollen bottom lip with blood underneath it, two small lacerations on his upper left arm, and a small laceration on his left hand that appeared to be a knife wound.
The man told the officer he had a verbal altercation with Williamson but did not say what led to his injuries. During the altercation, the man said he was in a bedroom when Williamson used a knife to force her way into the room. He also said a child was in the bedroom with him during the altercation.
The person who reported the incident said he was in a bedroom when he heard Williamson and the man arguing, yelling at each other and slamming doors. At one point, the person said he heard the man yell at Williamson to put the knives down. Upon exiting the bedroom, the person saw Williamson facing the man while holding a knife in each of her hands.
The person ran over and placed Williamson in a headlock to help the man take away the knives.
Upon further examination of the residence, the officer found pry marks on a bedroom door, as well as several drops of blood in a bedroom.
While speaking to the man on a jail call, Williamson was allegedly being manipulative. At one point, Williamson asked the man if he knew she sliced his hand open. Williamson tersely responded that the phone call was recorded, to which the man replied, “Oh, I fell down.”
Williamson has already been arrested and released on bond. She has an initial hearing at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, in Kosciusko Superior Court One.
