Downtown Pierceton Packed With Heirloom Tomato Festival Attendees

PIERCETON — Downtown Pierceton was packed as many gathered for the town’s annual Heirloom Tomato Festival on Saturday, Aug. 27.
There was plenty for attendees to do, from shopping at local food and craft vendors, listening to music and guest speakers, watching live demonstrations, and looking at a wide variety of tomatoes.
The day began with a 5K run/walk. Andrew Kenny was the overall male winner, with a time of 19:23.19. Lauren Lopez was the overall female winner with a time of 21:12.40.
Featured guests were Brad Clayton, “Tomato Jim” Wyant, Richard Rose, “Cadence,” Deb Collier’s Dance Troupe, Josh T., Matt Fawcett, Lonnie Glines, Merle and Suzanne Miller, and Lisa Truman.

Brower Park was packed with dozens of food and craft vendors.
