Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 3:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, North CR 950W, north of West CR 1350N, Nappanee. Driver: Jaren M. Swihart, 28, South CR 875W, Claypool. Swihart fell asleep while driving. His vehicle went off the roadway and hit a utility pole and box and then a tree. Damage: Swihart complained of left arm pain. Damage: Up to $100,000.
- 12:54 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, South Jackson Street, south of West Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Ashley M. Ameigh, 30, North CR 800W, Warsaw; and Amanda P. Baker, 23, North CR 875W, Etna Green. Ameigh backed her vehicle into Baker’s. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 9:53 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, West CR 1200S, east of South CR 200W, Silver Lake. Driver: Kenneth R. Stout, 42, North Fourth Street, North Manchester. Stout was backing up his vehicle when it ran up the guy wire for a utility pole. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 7:26 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, North CR 300E, south of East CR 175N, Warsaw. Driver: Melissa J. Kois, 48, East Clark Street, Warsaw. Kois’ vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 6:58 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, South CR 100W, south of West CR 1200S, Silver Lake. Driver: Scott W. Fouts, 43, South CR 100W, Silver Lake. Fouts swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting an animal. His vehicle went off the road and overturned. Fouts’ head was bleeding, and he had shoulder pain. He was taken to the hospital. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 3:49 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, West Old Road 30, west of North CR 350W, Warsaw. Drivers: Amberlee K. Haines, 50, Rivercrest Drive, Warsaw; and Hannah K. Harstine, 24, East CR 250S, Warsaw. Haines’ vehicle hit the back of Harstine’s. Haines complained of chest pain and was taken to the hospital. Harstine had bruising on her shoulder. Damage: Up to $50,000.
- 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, South CR 275E, north of East Wilcox Road, Warsaw. Driver: Deborah J. McClelland, 67, South East Ridge Drive North, Warsaw. McClelland’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $10,000.
Claypool
Officers with the Claypool Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 8:58 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, East SR 14, west of South CR 700E, Claypool. Drivers: Brielle M. Harrison, 21, West CR 350S, Warsaw; and Lois A. Gagnon, 59, South CR 700E, North Manchester. Harrison’s and Gagnon’s vehicles collided. Harrison complained of lip and hand pain, but refused to be transported to the hospital. Gagnon complained of neck and shoulder pain and was taken to the hospital. Damage: Up to $25,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 1:28 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, South Harkless Road, south of East Bowser Road, Syracuse. Driver: Nakole M. Weber, 52, East Maple Grove, Syracuse. Weber’s vehicle hit a stop sign. She was arrested for OWI. Damage: Up to $1,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 5:11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 929 E. Center St., Warsaw. Driver: Gvonte J. Green, 19, Maye Street, Warsaw. Green’s steering wheel started acting up. It wouldn’t turn, which caused his vehicle to hit a pole. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 5:11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 201 S. Detroit St., Warsaw. Drivers: Na Vioun R. James, 20, Laurel Street, Elkhart; and Lisa K. Lyon, 59, South Woodland Trail, Warsaw. James was backing up his vehicle and hit Lyon’s. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 11:02 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, SR 15 and North Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Cristal V. Ceja, 17, North Hickory Street, Warsaw; and Carol L. Engel, 79, West Section Street, Claypool. Ceja’s and Engel’s vehicles collided. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 10:45 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, South Buffalo Street, north of Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Keith Palacio, 42, Vance Avenue, Fort Wayne; and Gary M. Clayton, 69, West Neher Road, Silver Lake. The trailer that Palacio’s vehicle was pulling hit Clayton’s vehicle. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 7:37 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, North Lake Street and West Main Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Nyoka J. Sexton, 29, Clinic Court, Warsaw; Amy L. Adams, 52, North Hartzler Street, Warsaw; and Madelyn C. Temple, 18, Hartzler Street, Warsaw. Sexton said she was driving while tired. Her vehicle hit the back of Adams’, which caused Adams’ vehicle to hit Temple’s. Adams had a bruise on her head. Damage: Up to $25,000.
