Stanley D. Estes — UPDATED
Stanley D. Estes, 70, Warsaw, died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born July 23, 1952, in Whitley County, the son of Raymond and Fay Estes. He was a 1970 graduate from Clay High School in South Bend and furthered his education by taking three years of college courses. On Aug. 12, 1975, he married the love of his life, Susan Price.
Stanley owned his own construction company, Estes Construction, and worked as a maintenance supervisor for Dalton Foundry for 18 years. A hard worker with an eye for detail, Stanley served his customers by creating, designing, remodeling and building new homes. He was an avid golf player, enjoyed going to the casino and traveling out west to visit the Rocky Mountains and Arizona Desert Lakes. More than anything, Stanley loved his wife and his family.
Those who survive with memories to treasure include his wife of 47 years, Susan; children, Jennifer (Glenn) Hlutke, Sara Estes and Dannie Hurd; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Teresa Ward; and sister-in-law, Nanette. His parents; son, Brandon Hurd; and brother, Larry Estes preceded him in death.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, is entrusted with Stanley’s care. The visitation will take place from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service, Tuesday, Sep. 6, 2022, at the funeral home.
