AKRON — An update on plans for renovating and adding on to Tippecanoe Valley High School will be provided at the next regular Tippecanoe Valley School Board meeting.
At its monthly public work session on Thursday, Sept. 15, at TVHS, the Tippecanoe Valley School Board heard that news from Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. Superintendent Blaine Conley. The next meeting is to start at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, at Mentone Elementary School.
The school corporation had planned to have started the project around the end of the last school year. However, due to bids for construction coming in too high, the corporation opted to rebid the project.
Conley noted that both representatives from The Skillman Corp., the construction management company for the project, and Fanning Howey, the architecture firm for it, will give updates on the rebidding process.
In other business, the board:
- Heard from Conley that TVHS boys golf coach Ben Shriver had submitted his resignation. Conley said that was due to his taking a new job and moving to a different area. Shriver is the son of late TVHS football coach and teacher Jeff Shriver.
- Heard from Conley that a TVSC graduate had made an anonymous donation of $2,500 for Valley’s alternative high school, Burket Educational Center.
