Virginia Faust Kiphart Bockman — UPDATED
Virginia Faust Kiphart Bockman, 95, died Nov. 7, 2022. She was born Sept. 1, 1927, to Clarence E. and Mary L. (Wiles) Faust in Noblesville. On April 21, 1946, she married Robert T. Kiphart, who died June 7, 1973. She married Ray Bockman Sept. 27, 1974, who proceeded her in death May 6, 2004. She lived in Madison County, mainly in Pendleton, for 48 years of her life.
She graduated from Pendleton High School with the Class of 1945. While living in Pendleton, she belonged to Ladies Auxilary of the Pendleton Fire Department. She was also a lifetime member of Eastern Star No. 138 in Pendleton. After working several years at Roll Coater in Greenfield, she accepted a position with the Pendleton Banking Company where she became the first woman officer of that bank. She retired after 10 years, moving to Warsaw, and was office manager for Rayco Steel Process Company, which Ray Bockman owned.
Most of all Mom loved her sons and grandchildren. We had many wonderful Christmas celebrations at her house!
She also loved to crochet, sew and paint. One special joy for her was making personalized birthday cards for her loved ones. She loved to cook and was “famous” for her yeast rolls and cream puffs. She was a very generous lady and contributed to many organizations as well as the First Christian Church. Her rag doll cat named Coco was her beloved companion for 18 years.
She is survived by five sons, Steve (Sandy), Jeff (Jana), Robert (Barbara) and Rory (Becky) Kiphart all of Warsaw and Rodney Kiphart, Anderson; grandchildren, Matthew Kiphart, Warsaw, Elodie Ray Kiphart, Strasbourg, France, Meghann (Kyle) Wyman, Warsaw, Kyle Kiphart (fiance Alyssa Ashton), Leesburg, Leah (Tom) Green-Whitehead, Fishers, Zachary (Bobbi) Kiphart, Anderson, Brenden (Sara) Kiphart, Mentone, Amanda (Steve) Kiphart and Rachael (Nick) Kiphart, both of Lombard, Ill.; stepgrandchildren, Samantha (Daniel) Harshman, Roann, Desiree (Chad) Griepentrog, Warsaw, Hans (Autumn) Griepentrog, Warsaw, Brittany (Ryan) Griepentrog, Arkansas, Taylor (Axel) Rizzo, Warsaw, Blake, Logan and Whitney Pilcher, North Webster; seven great-grandchildren with one on the way; 10 step-great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Debra Aalbregtse, Warsaw, Sharon Thompson, Frisco, Colo. and Sandra Bockman, Cape Cod, Mass.; sister-in-law Jenette Bockman, North Webster; several nieces and nephews; and her loving, wonderful sister, Eve Bevelhimer, Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Ross Kiphart; a brother Joel Faust; a sister-in-law Frances Faust; and an aunt, Rae Williams, Ripley, Tenn.; and her companion Coco.
A very special thanks to Jeff and Jana Kiphart who moved in with Mom so she could be at home. Also, thank you to the Promedica Hospice team from Fort Wayne: Linda, Savannah, Forrest and all for the special care they gave to Mom and her family. The family also extends thanks to Barbara Rowley, who sat with Mom when needed.
Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. A funeral service in celebration of Virginia’s (Ginny’s) life will begin at 6 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Gary Boschain conducting the services. Burial will take place at noon Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, in Mendon Cemetery in Pendleton.
