Numerous High School Athletes Injured When Bus Hit By Semitractor

WARSAW — Numerous high school athletes from the Chicago area were injured after the school bus they were in was struck by a semi tractor/trailer and overturned. The extent of the injuries was not known.
The accident occurred around 8 tonight, Saturday, Nov. 12, on US 30 and East Center Street in front of Bob Evans Restaurant.
At least eight ambulances responded to the scene taking the injured to area hospitals.
The semi tractor/trailer came to a stop on the north side of US 30 approximately one-fourth of a mile east of the scene.
Initial reports were that the students were exiting the bus through the emergency roof hatch and the emergency rear doors.
Indiana State Police, Warsaw and Winona Lake police departments along with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded.
Westbound traffic was rerouted onto Center Street.
