WARSAW — Bowlers from Special Olympics Kosciusko County competed in the Area 5 tournament held in Logansport at Myers Sports Bowl Nov. 5-6. The tournament featured teams from Area 5 in Indiana Special Olympics.

Results of local bowlers are as follows:

First place — Elizabeth Wabol.

Second place — Matt Bammel, Morgan Swafford, Sara Shepherd and Norman McPeak.

Third place —  Malika Wood, Steven Slater, Crystal Redman, Gale Vanator, Chris Islas and Amy Philson.

Fourth place — Lori Kiefer, Brian Bierly, Sandy Hunter, Jerry Davis and Mike Parker.

Fifth place — Ruby French and Martha Sullivan.

Sixth place — Teri Hughes, Robert Svinarich and Christina Messer.

Seventh place — Jim Kussmaul.

Eighth place — Sandy Bibler and Wayne Momeyer.

Unified Team – First place: Athletes Justin Miller and Lee Beery with partners Amy Miller and Jeff Miller.

Special Olympics County coordinator Becky Walls would like to thank coach Val Flanagan and volunteers for their help with bowling for this event and throughout the year.

The basketball program is tentatively scheduled to start Nov. 10.
