Wulliman Files To Run For County Treasurer
Staff Report
WARSAW – Diane Wulliman announced this week that she has filed paperwork with Kosciusko County Republican County Chairman Mike Ragan to be a candidate in the Dec. 1 caucus for Kosciusko County Treasurer.
The vacancy was created after County Treasurer Rhonda Helser was elected as county auditor in the Nov. 8 election.
“I have been planning this run in the caucus for Kosciusko County Treasurer for several months. I am seeking this office because I want to give back to this community and I feel I can give a fresh perspective and new energy to the office,” she said in a prepared statement.
“I also want to continue serving the people of Kosciusko County as I have in my past endeavors working and serving on the board of the City-County Athletic Complex, serving as Kosciusko County’s Director of Indiana’s Bicentennial and working in the Kosciusko County Administrator’s office.
As Treasurer, she pledged to maintain “the excellent level of customer service currently being provided to the people of Kosciusko County.”
“My other goals are to cross-train the existing, experienced staff to make the office run more efficiently, work to educate the public on their property taxes and work to improve the working relationships with other departments.
In terms of qualifications, she pointed to her background in banking, mortgage lending and real estate transactions. She also has experience supervising employees, hiring, scheduling and training staff, budgeting and customer service.
She worked for six years in the Human Resources/County Administrator’s office. She spent several years in the private sector with a title company before beginning work in the Treasurer’s office about a year ago.
“I know county policies and I am the only candidate with experience in the Treasurer’s Office,” she said.
She is a graduate of Indiana State University, has a degree in Business Administration, and is a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County.
She’s been working in the treasurer’s office for about a year and said she had discussed her longterm interest in the job with Helser months ago.
