WARSAW — Penguin Point has permanently closed seven of its restaurants.
These recent closures include Warsaw’s Penguin Point location at 1115 W. Lake St. Paper signs taped on the restaurant’s doors and drive-thru menu board state: “Sorry, we are closed. Please visit our other two Warsaw locations. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
The six other closures include Elkhart restaurants on Bristol Street and Lusher Avenue, as well as locations in Fort Wayne, Goshen, Marion, and Plymouth.
In a public Facebook post, Penguin Point posted the following statement about the closures:
“Our commitment to the Penguin Point team is steadfast, and every member of each (restaurant) was offered a position at one of our other locations,” read the statement. “We want to personally thank the team members who made these locations a welcoming space for families for so many years.”
Nine Penguin Point restaurants in northern Indiana remain open, including the Warsaw locations on Center Street and Detroit Street, as well as the Syracuse restaurant.
