Questa Education Foundation’s Financial Aid Application Is Now Open
News Release
FORT WAYNE — Questa Education Foundation recently announced the Traditional Questa Scholars Program application is open from Dec. 1 through March 15, 2023. The application is available online to students who are currently high school seniors or college freshmen planning on attending college in the fall of 2023.
All students pursuing a variety of majors are encouraged to apply. Specific funding is available for students from Kosciusko County pursuing a healthcare degree, as well as students studying manufacturing-related fields and female students studying business.
“Supporting over 400 scholars each year, Questa proudly provides financial assistance to students who otherwise might not be able to complete their degrees due to financial barriers,” said Stephanie Smith, assistant director of Questa Education Foundation. “Our Traditional Questa Scholars Program allows a student to borrow up to $5,000 per year, for a total of $20,000 if a student is pursuing a four-year degree. When students complete their degree and live and work in Northeast Indiana after graduation, their Questa loan can be up to 75% forgivable. This program offers a great financial aid option to students and families looking for a more affordable education.”
Offering low-interest forgivable loans for students pursuing a certificate, associate or bachelor’s degree from an Indiana college or university, the Traditional Questa Scholars Program offers a unique way for students to afford college, minimize their debt upon graduation and give back to their local community. Questa funding is designed to encourage graduates to remain in Northeast Indiana to build the area’s workforce and to support future generations of students.
Questa will forgive 50% of the scholar’s loan balance when the scholar lives and works in Northeast Indiana for five years after graduation. Students who attend and graduate from one of Questa’s 12 regional partner schools will receive an additional 25% forgiveness at graduation. With up to 75% of their Questa loans forgiven, students graduate with less debt and provide opportunity for future students. “Any repayment Questa receives from their graduates supports future Questa scholars,” said Smith. “We hope it’s empowering for students to know they are paying it forward for the students who follow in their footsteps.”
Questa also provides funding opportunities to juniors and seniors in college as well as adult learners through the Contemporary Scholars Program. This application is open year-round to scholars who are pursuing various majors.
