Apartment Fire In Downtown Warsaw Quickly Extinguished

WARSAW — An apartment fire in downtown Warsaw on Wednesday night was quickly extinguished by multiple departments.
At 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory was dispatched to a second-story apartment fire at 211 E. Center St., Warsaw. The property is owned by Lemler Land Holdings LLC, Silver Lake.
According to WWFT Public Information Officer Max Kinsey, upon arrival at the scene, no flames or smoke were visible from the building. However, upon making entry, smoke was visible in the apartment’s hallway and staircase area.
The fire was reported under control by 8:46 p.m.
Winona Lake, Plain Township, and Claypool Fire Departments responded to the scene with full assists. Warsaw Police Department assisted with traffic, and the Kosciusko County Health Department was called to assist Mi Lindo Acapulco representatives. The restaurant is part of the building where the fire occurred. NIPSCO also provided utility assistance.
No injuries were reported, and the fire’s cause is currently under investigation.
