Warsaw Library Board Approves $15 Starting Wage For Employees

WARSAW — A $15 starting wage for employment at Warsaw Community Public Library was approved by the library’s Board of Trustees during a Dec. 12 meeting.
“One aspect of (the $15 starting wage) is the rest of the staff’s (wages and salaries) will be adjusted accordingly based on the starting (pay) of $15,” said WCPL Director Ann Zydek.
The board also determined its slate of board officers will remain the same going into 2023; the slate will be officially voted on during the board’s January meeting. Chris Merrill, Barbara Beck, Jill Beehler, and Ben Rice will serve in their current positions as president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer, respectively.
Beehler was also chosen by the board to continue as WCPL’s representative on the Warsaw Parks & Recreation Board.
For upcoming holidays, WCPL will be closed from Friday, Dec. 23, to Monday, Dec. 26, and Monday, Jan. 2. The closures are in observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day.
The board’s next meeting is at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9.
