Valley Approves Administrator Salaries

MENTONE — The Tippecanoe Valley School Board approved administrator salaries for the year during a Dec. 19 meeting.
The salaries are as follows: Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. Superintendent Blaine Conley, $118,800; Tippecanoe Valley High School Principal Brandon Kresca, $91,650; Tippecanoe Valley Middle School Principal Scott Backus, $88,457; Mentone Elementary School Principal Randy Dahms, $87,960; Akron Elementary School Principal Scott Sterk, $78,000; TVHS Assistant Principal Dayna Kolanowski, $76,900; TVMS Assistant Principal Phelix Omondi, $77,100; TVSC Director of Special Services Meagan Wilks, $84,200; TVSC Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Inga Omondi, $75,900; TVSC Dean of Students Joe Luce, $83,500; and TVHS Athletic Director Sam Sturtevant, $68,000.
Staff Changes
The board also approved the hiring of TVHS instructional assistant Nicki Lewis and TVSC Maintenance Specialist Robert Shidler and Lisa Miller as TVMS seventh and eighth grade girls’ basketball assistant coach and Whitney Beck as TVMS volunteer cheer coach.
It accepted the resignations of Mentone secretary Lisa Demske, TVHS assistant wrestling coach Keaton Bell, Akron cook Judy McNeilly and Valley Early Learning Academy Coordinator Nicole Hines and instructional assistant Layla Eherenman.
In other business, the board:
- Accepted the following donations: $475 from DonorsChoose for sensory materials for TVMS special education teacher Cathy Olson’s students; $500 from an anonymous donor for a holiday luncheon for Akron staff; $500 from the Builders Association of North Central Indiana for coats for Mentone students; $500 from an anonymous donor for Burket Educational Center; $500 from TAAG Inc. of Logansport for the TVHS theater program; and $100 for fitness classes at Akron.
- Reappointed Kylene Crabb, Kacie Zolman and Tiffany Waldo to the Bell Memorial Public Library Board.
- Heard that The Skillman Corp., the construction management company for the TVHS renovation project, will provide an update in January.
- Heard reports on TVHS activities from student representatives Abby Bowers and Benton Nellans. Finals are ongoing, and the TVHS student council once again helped with the Miracle Tree program by getting Christmas gifts for those in need.
The board will have a public work session, reorganization meeting and board of finance meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at the TVHS Jeff Shriver Viking Room, with its next regular meeting set for 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at Burket Educational Center.
