Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 2:50 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 3980 S. 600W, Mentone. Driver: Brandon E. Hoffman, 18, South CR 600W, Silver Lake. Hoffman was traveling north on South CR 600W when his vehicle left the roadway and hit a house and detached garage at 3980 S. 600W. Hoffman’s vehicle then continued between the house and garage, hitting a tree. Hoffman had blood coming from his nose/facial area and denied treatment at the scene. A passenger in Hoffman’s vehicle, Branson C. McBrier, 19, Mentone, had small cuts on his hand and was released by medics at the scene. Bernice D. Meadows, Mentone, was home at the time of the accident and was injured. She complained of left shoulder and right knee pain, and also believed her left wrist was possibly broken. She was taken to a local hospital by medics. Damage up to $50,000.
- 6:29 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, West CR 200S, east of South County Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Miguel E. Davila, 29, Meadow Lane, Warsaw. Davila was traveling west on East CR 200S when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 6:29 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, West Market Street, near North First Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Tyler M. Johnson, 25, Reed Street, South Whitley; and Dylan C. Wyatt, 27, South SR 25, Warsaw. Johnson was traveling north on First Street and was attempting to turn west onto Market Street when he hit Wyatt’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 7:08 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, South Zimmer Road, north of White Industrial Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Lloyd J. Swick, 60, South SR 25 A., Mentone; and Kodi L. Holle, 24, South Detroit Street 284, Warsaw. Swick was backing his vehicle when he hit Holle’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 12:41 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, SR 15, south of Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dana K. Landry, 65, EMS T14 Lane, Leesburg; and Melissa J. Coy, 38, EMS B18 Lane, Pierceton. Landry was traveling east on Jalynn Street and was making a right turn at a red light when she hit Coy’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $10,000.
