Tribute To John Elliott
Dear Editor:
John Elliott was one of the most community minded individuals that I have ever known. From the time he walked up the courthouse steps with me to file to run for the office of Mayor of Warsaw in 1984, he was a cheerleader for the city of Warsaw. He was an invaluable advisor to me on nearly all matters that confronted our city. Every project that my administration endeavored to achieve, John was there to help in any way he could. He was very involved in bringing the dream of the City County Athletic Complex to fruition. As I always said, for a city to flourish, it needed to have the vision of Jules Verne and the spirit of Mayberry. John had both vision and spirit.
Even after my wife and I moved away from the Warsaw community to retire, John called me at least once a month to chat and to reminisce.
In my opinion, he was a giant of a man. Rest in peace, my friend.
