Controller
The controller is responsible for all the legal, financial and employment affairs of the Company and its affiliates.
The controller’s duties include:
- Supervision of accounting & administrative assistants
- Management of accounts payable & receivables
- Review all jobs as completed for correct costing
- Coordinate annual inventory working with purchasing agent & plant manager
- Full responsibility of monthly close process
- Preparation of financial statements
- Preparation of sales/use, property and payroll tax returns as required
- Manage all compliance issues and ensure legal filings are completed as required
- Manage company’s cash position to maximize returns within acceptable risk tolerances.
- Coordinate annual financial statement review & tax return preparation with outside accounting firm
- Update and maintain corporate books & records as required
- Manage relationship with banks, insurance agents, tax authorities as needed
- Maintain all employee records
- Manage all employee benefits
- Manage Company’s commercial insurance policies
- Manage IT needs of the Company
- Maintenance of ERP and payroll system as needed
- Serve as backup to the administrative assistant for order entry
- Serve as chair of the Company’s safety committee
- Other duties as assigned
BACKGROUND & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, graduate degree preferred
- 5+ years progressive experience in accounting
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Previous experience filing payroll, sales and property tax returns required
- Previous IT management experience preferred
- Able to prioritize multiple deadlines, work under pressure
- Work with no supervision
- Extensive ERP system and MS Office knowledge strongly preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Able to work with confidential information
