First Hearing For Mitchell Case Suspects Wednesday
News Release
NOBLE COUNTY — The two men arrested in connection with the death of a North Webster girl in 1975 will have their first court hearing Wednesday, Feb. 8, in Noble Circuit Court.
That information was provided in an updated press release from the Indiana State Police. In an earlier release on Tuesday, Feb. 7, Fred Bandy Jr., 67, Goshen, and John Wayne Lehman, 67, Auburn, were listed as suspects in the killing of Laurel Jean Mitchell, 17.
Comments from Noble County Prosecutor Jim Mowery, made during a press conference, were also provided in the updated press release.
“While the arrest of these two individuals is a very important step, this isn’t the end. The investigation of this crime is still ongoing and the prosecution of these defendants has just begun,” he said.
