PIERCETON — A new restaurant could be coming to Pierceton.
The Pierceton Town Council discussed that news at its regular meeting on Monday, Feb. 13, in the Pierceton Community Building.
The business would be located in the lower section of 303 N. First St., right by Pizza Stop & Subs. The council tentatively approved rezoning the building for additional use, with the matter to next go before the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals, before coming back to the council.
The council also approved helping create a new address for the building where the restaurant would be located.
In other business, the council:
- Heard from Town Marshal Jim Bumbaugh the Pierceton Police Department has received a little less than $2,800 grant for new body cameras and related equipment.
- Heard from Bumbaugh the police department will be getting several new sets of body armor thanks to another grant.
- Approved allowing Town Superintendent Casey Boggs to purchase a new dump truck bed at a quoted price of $10,558.63.
The council’s next meeting is 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 13, in the community building.
