Syracuse Public Library — Next Trivia Night Spotlights Prohibitions
News release
SYRACUSE — Syracuse Public Library is hosting another over 21 trivia night at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at the Down Under Bar and Restaurant, 801 N. Huntington St.
This session will test people’s knowledge of prohibitions, including the U.S.’s prohibition on alcohol from 1920 to 1933. However, the trivia questions will not be limited to that period of U.S. history.
Plan to arrive early if you’d like to order food or drinks. The trivia will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
Homeschool Class Explores Art
During its first meeting at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, the homeschool class will learn about art, and children will create paintings. Younger children can attend story time, which occurs concurrently with the homeschool class.
Children ages 5-12 who wanted to submit their summer reading T-shirt designs have until Friday, March 3, to do so. The library’s board of trustees will select a winner, whose design the library staff will wear this summer. Pick up design templates at the Syracuse Public Library or download them from www.syracuse.lib.in.us.
Friends To Meet
The Friends of the Syracuse Public Library will hold their first meeting of 2023 at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, in the library’s downstairs meeting room. The group invites anyone wanting to support the Syracuse Public Library to attend and learn more about the Friends. Since this group meets before the library opens, knock on the southernmost Harrison Street door for entry.
Young Adults Video Gaming
Young adults can swing by the Syracuse Public Library from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 2, to play Nintendo Switch games in the Rosalyn Jones Room. Young adults can also use the library’s public computers to play “Roblox” or “Fortnite.” During young adult video gaming, the library provides snacks for teens to enjoy.
